Cap de Sima
Cap de Sima (Cape Sima), located on the western peninsula of the island of Anjouan (Nzwani), holds historical significance in the Comoros Archipelago as a strategic coastal vantage point. Historically, the elevated headland and fortified battlements guarding the bay were equipped with naval cannons to defend the island against sea raids, pirate incursions, and rival regional powers navigating the Mozambique Channel. Today, the ruined ramparts and scenic ocean vistas make Cap de Sima a notable historical and geographical landmark of Anjouan.
To highlight regional historic sites across the islands, the postal administration of the Comoros Archipelago (Archipel des Comores) issued a dedicated airmail series (POSTE AERIENNE). Designed by P.
