The first radiotelephone link between Paris and Moroni (1ère Liaison Radiotéléphonique Paris–Moroni) established a vital direct telecommunications bridge between France and the Comoros Archipelago. Prior to long-distance radio communication networks, official dispatches and personal messages between Europe and the Indian Ocean territory relied heavily on slow maritime mail and basic telegraphy. The introduction of high-frequency radiotelephony enabled instant voice and telecommunication transmission across thousands of miles, modernizing administrative, commercial, and emergency communications for the island territory.

To commemorate this technological milestone, the postal administration of the Comoros Archipelago (Archipel des Comores) issued a dedicated 35-franc airmail stamp (POSTE AERIENNE). The dynamic design highlights the connection between both capitals, featuring iconic landmarks the Eiffel Tower representing Paris and a traditional Comorian palace/mosque representing Moroni linked by stylized radio wave emissions and a telephone handset, framed within classical columns.
